About To Proudly Go

To Proudly Go began with a simple idea: bring people together around the hopeful vision of science fiction and turn that sense of community into meaningful action.

Founded on March 1, 2021, To Proudly Go Inc. was created to support the LGBTQIA+ community by partnering with charitable organizations working to improve people's lives today. Inspired by science fiction—and particularly Star Trek'svision of a future built upon diversity, exploration, compassion, and cooperation—we believe the better future we imagine is something we can help build together.

What started as an idea grew into a community. Through drag performances, charitable fundraisers, conventions, Pride celebrations, community events, and partnerships, To Proudly Go has created spaces where LGBTQIA+ people, allies, and science-fiction fans can connect, celebrate who they are, and contribute to causes that strengthen our communities.

Along the way, we have learned that our impact isn't measured only by the money we raise. It can also be found in the connections created at our events, the performers given opportunities to grow, the organizations and causes we help amplify, and the welcoming spaces where people can experience the joy of belonging.

Since our founding, To Proudly Go has produced more than 200 events and contributed more than $16,000 to charitable organizations and community causes, supporting work addressing LGBTQIA+ youth, HIV/AIDS services, food insecurity, housing and community care, mental health and wellness, legal equity, anti-bullying and resilience, and more.

Science fiction asks us to imagine what the future could be. To Proudly Go challenges us to help build it.
